R.E.D.E. to Communicate®: Delivering Bad News (eLearning)

Delivering bad news is a reality of the medical field. Although we are not able to change the news we have to give, we can make sure that we are delivering that news as effectively and as empathically as possible. This course is designed to teach clinicians how much information patients want in regards to getting bad news, how they want it delivered and ways to show empathy to the patient after delivery of the news. It will build upon the skills learned in the R.E.D.E.®: Foundations of Healthcare Communication course and apply those skills when faced with giving a patient bad news. These skills will then be practiced in a safe and controlled environment using standardized patients.
